Bergman/Rivera SAC

Bergman/Rivera was created in 2007 as the result of the merger of Bergman Sweden (formerly Verner Frang) and Cortextil’s organic cotton projects. We are one of the pioneers of the organic cotton movement in the world. Since 1986, we have produced organic cotton under the White Cotton brand in southern Peru, in cooperation with small farmers who own their land.

By developing a working system of organic methods of agriculture, pest control and textile processing, Bergman/Rivera has been able to consistently supply the market with organic cotton products of utmost quality. Crops have continuously increased in volume and the White Cotton and Wild Cotton (colored cotton) projects currently employ 435 farmers in more than 6 different valleys throughout Peru.

We are the first company in Latin America that is fully certified under the Global Organic Textile Standard (G.O.T.S), from field to garment. This certification guarantees not only the traceability of the organic cotton we use, but also our fair labor standards, the sustainability of all the products used, and our respect for the environment.
