La Siesta is a producer of premium brand hammocks, serving mainly the European market. Appealing designs, top quality and technical perfection characterize our products. We are a family enterprise in the second generation, committed to our suppliers, the continuance of cultural traditions and to the perfection of sustainability in all our proceedings.

During his second trip to the continent Christopher Columbus was the first European ever being confronted with a hammock. Hammocks originated in the hot spots of Latin America (mainly around the Caribbean and in North-eastern Brazil) and La Siesta focuses on keeping this traditional craftsmanship in those spots. Most of our hammocks are produced in Colombia, Mexico and Brazil and still bear the artisanal characteristics of the regions where they developed.

Today close to 20 % of our hammocks are made of organic cotton. For attaining that we have to import organic yarn to the countries of production, as there is no organic fibre available there. However, we are supporting and funding SOCiLA (see www.socila.eu), an initiative of our founder dedicated to promote organic cotton cultivation and use in Latin America.
