Outdoor Industry Association was founded in 1989 by a few visionary outdoor industry professionals who realized that “outdoor” was beginning to be recognized as more than just a passing consumer trend. They created OIA to preserve and promote standards for their industry. More than two decades later, our core purpose remains the same today.
