Texas Organic Cotton Marketing Cooperative (TOCMC) members produce the majority of the organic cotton grown in the United States. Most of these organic farmers are located in the South Plains region surrounding Lubbock, Texas, and are certified by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA). Production ranges from 6,000 to 15,000 bales per year, varying significantly from year to year due to rainfall and other weather conditions. TOCMC, a TDA certified distributor, supplies organic and transitional cotton to mills and merchants worldwide. Each bale of cotton is tracked from the field to the customer and has USDA HJVI classing specifications.
