The report presents continued growth for organic cotton in 2009-10. Production rose 15% from 209,950 metric tonnes (mt) in 2008-9 to 241,697 mt this year. The 100-page report covers 23 countries, 260 producer groups, and 275,300 farmers. As this is the fifth year that the comprehensive report has been produced, we have taken the opportunity to look back over the five years to review the rise of organic cotton since 2005-6, when only 37,000 mt was produced.
