Through what means can businesses show and become transparent without giving away all their trade secrets?

I don't quite catch the essence of the "transparency" notion. What do you mean by it? If you explain it to me I could probably share my experience in my business with you!

Transperancency is must

I think in every business their must be transparency. As it helps the investors to take their decision regarding investment. The company who keeps complete transparency wins the faith from their clients.

Business Transparency

Hi,

Transparency is a huge issue within the organic clothing sector which I believe has a simple solution.

Here's my thoughts regarding organic certification of textiles:

I own a business supplying certified organic cotton clothing which is made in Australia. I continually see businesses here promoting their clothing as being 'organic'. When I question their organic credentials they admit the clothing is actually not certified but grown in some remote village in the high lands of Thailand or where ever but is grown without chemicals. Business transparency? Hmmm.

The average consumer accepts that when a business calls their product organic it means that it is a genuine certified organic product.

If companies want to trek down the organic path, transparency is a must. Besides being certified through a reputable body, organic textile companies should be happy to provide a traceability supply chain from seed to shop.

What do you think?

maybe the answer is the question?

Hi

Great question ! Our experience is that textiles as a sector tends to bring out the worst in people when sharing and collaboration is concerned. The question is how to grow trust. Fortunately in organic textiles opting out of a relationship is slightly less easy than in the conventional space, but still: I do not trust you because you may hurt my business by taking my ideas / buyers / suppliers /staff /investors. Or would you not?

Can I find out if there is scope for more trust by first acting trustworthy myself first? E.g by sharing some information that will genuinely help you.
Then I can ask you directly: how can we TOGETHER increase the level of information that we are sharing (both ways) without damaging our business?

The answer needs to be co-created and will be different with each trading partner.
