Job Summary 

The Standards Assurance Specialist – Global is responsible for supporting the operations of the Textile Exchange Standards & Assurance platform, concentrating particularly on monitoring activities. 

The ideal candidate is curious, self-motivated, helpful, and organized. Success in the role will depend on attention to detail, a high degree of organization, resourcefulness, and professionalism. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are a must. Knowledge of Quality Management Systems is an advantage.  

Like all roles at Textile Exchange, the position will be primarily home-based, though there is a need to work during hours that overlap with East Asia/Australasian time zones.  

The specialist will work with the monitoring team to review audit reports submitted by Certification bodies on consistency and correct interpretation of the Textile Exchange Standards and calibrations and perform witness and conformity assessments. 

Core Responsibilities:  

Planning for the Monitoring Team: Work closely with the monitoring team to review audit reports submitted by Certification Bodies on consistency and correct interpretation of the Textile Exchange Standards and calibrations. Collaborate in the planning, execution, and monitoring of program qualifications and procedures in line with the Textile Exchange’s mission and goals. 

Compliance and Audit Oversight: Prepare and analyze data for the monitoring team to conduct (on-site) witness assessments. Ensure compliance and carry out audit capacity measures aligned with the organization’s quality standards. 

Data Collection and Monitoring: Collection and monitoring from Accreditation bodies and Certification Bodies, along with the review of Transaction Certificate data to ensure correct information. 

Complaints Review and Follow-up: Provide diligent follow-up and assistance in complaints review and create monthly reports  

Conducting Witness and Conformity Assessments: Undertake witness assessments to maintain and improve the integrity of the Textile Exchange assurance system.  

Experience and Qualifications: 

Core Competencies: 

– Passionate about sustainability, with special emphasis on the identification of risks and opportunities for continuous improvement in the textile industry. 

– Strong understanding of Certification and Auditing processes; prior experience in audit capacity preferred. 

– Solid understanding of Quality Management Systems, with the ability to develop and maintain the program quality system. 

– Self-motivated & well-organized team player, clear communicator in English and Chinese (Mandarin), both oral & written. 

– Eager to learn, with an inclination towards training and qualification of staff. 

Minimum Required: 

– 5+ years of relevant experience preferably in the Assurance or Audit/Certification field. 

– Bachelor’s degree in Textiles, Sustainability or related field  

– Working knowledge of sustainability standards, including the review of audit reports, and certification decisions 

– Proven ability to establish strong relationships and build rapport with stakeholders and clients. 

– Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; professional level of English and any other language speaking and writing skills. 

– Proven analytical skills; strong understanding of technology and process; adept problem-solver. 

– Able to handle a fast-paced environment and tight deadlines; ability to operate in a multicultural environment. 

– Demonstrated alignment with Textile Exchange’s vision, mission, and goals, and an understanding of the Textile Supply Chain and its stakeholders globally 

– Flexibility to communicate with multiple time zones outside of standard working hours; ability to work remotely with global teams. 

Employment Package 

-Reports to: Standards Quality Assurance, Senior Manager

-Full-Time Position, 40 Hours a Week 

-Location: East Asia/ Remote

-USD52,000 – USD74,000 (depending on experience) 

-Start Date: As Soon As Possible (start date to be agreed between both parties)

-Our offers for salary and benefits are dependent on the region of the final candidate. We post most positions based on a US-based Team member but final offers are done in alignment with the final candidate’s permanent residence and in line with Textile Exchange’s regional employment package.
