The 2021 Material Change Index (MCI) results are now live!

The 2021 Material Change Index (MCI) results are now live!

We are delighted to announce the 2021 Material Change Index (MCI) Results are now live. 2021 was a record year of MCI participants, with improved scores, and a significant increase in the uptake of preferred materials. We are proud of all participating companies and their results, which illustrate their progress towards systematically measuring, managing, and integrating a preferred fiber and materials strategy into their mainstream business operations.

MCI Company Scorecards

All MCI participants (brands and retailers) have now received their confidential digital scorecards accessible to them in the secure portal. Company scorecards provide each participant with a year-on-year comparison and an important gap analysis to inform decision-making and priorities going forward.

We hope all Companies Creating Material Change have accessed their Communications Toolkit and look forward to seeing how you are using your MCI badge and the beautiful media graphics. We would love to learn how you will be sharing your results in your company reports.

MCI Leaderboard, Impacts Dashboard, and Sector Scorecards

Through the launch of the MCI Leaderboard, Impacts Dashboard, and Sector Scorecard, we celebrate the 2021 community creating material change. We recently released the 2021 MCI Leaderboard, Impacts Dashboard, and Sector Scorecards, and here is what they entail.

The MCI Leaderboard is a public resource that celebrates all companies that took part in the benchmark, delivering transparency by sharing participants’ performance banding with the world. When exploring the Leaderboard, you will notice each company has a “progress card” which provides a deeper level of progress.

The Impact Dashboard provides an opportunity for interested stakeholders to observe the progress made by the entire group of benchmarking companies across different outcome and impact areas, from land use to climate action.

The Sector Scorecard provides a snapshot of how each sub-sector is doing and the average results across the entire group of participants, can be found on the MCI landing page.

Insights Report in June

This year, the Material Change Insights Report will be released in June. The Insights Report will be a detailed review of the last three years of benchmarking, the progress we have made, and where we need to go next to achieve our targets.
