A forward-thinking system delivering granular traceability
Designed to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain, eTrackit works by electronically tracking certified materials for each key product transformation, as well as every time products are transacted between a seller and a buyer. eTransactions establish material accounting at the article level throughout the supply chain, dual verified by peer-to-peer validation and third-party certification body transaction approval. Each kilo of certified material is traced, providing real-time visibility of certified inventory transfers in a closed loop supply chain.

Increasing efficiency and integrity in traceability
eTrackit’s initial release application will be powered by the traceability platform TextileGenesis™. However, Textile Exchange will continue to develop pathways under the Trackit umbrella as the system evolves, collaborating with further solution providers and stakeholders who are working with other traceability solutions once its data evolves.
HOW IT WORKS
Tracking certified materials online via eTransactions
Brand eligibility
Eligible, certified brands can now register for eTrackit and begin the process of supply chain mapping. In this initial rollout, the system is available for Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and Recycled Claim Standard (RCS), and so brands must be certified to the GRS and/or RCS to use eTrackit. This is necessary for end-to-end traceability.
Supply chain discovery
Brands that are eligible to use the eTrackit system need to undergo a supply chain discovery phase to identify whether they also have eligible purchase orders (POs).
Certified brands can register to have their supply chain diagnosed and receive a report on the eligibility of their certified supply chains.
eTransactions
Once a supply chain has been onboarded to the traceability platform, certified organizations can apply for eTransactions, which the system will authenticate against the permissible scope, as well as their available inventory, and their adherence to content and standard requirements. Validated eTransactions are then passed on to certification bodies for verification and approval.
Peer-to-peer validation
With the approval of eTransactions, the system will draw on the virtual inventory of the seller and move it to the buyer. The buyer will then need to accept the inventory to complete the peer-to-peer validation. The virtual inventory, coupled with this peer-to-peer validation, ensures that certified volume is always zero-sum within the supply chain.
TIMELINE
eTrackit is now available for commercial use for RCS and GRS
In October 2022, we completed the Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) and Global Recycled Standard (GRS) eTrackit pilot. Taking on board pilot findings, we improved the system and released eTrackit for commercial use with RCS and GRS in November 2023. We began piloting the Organic Content Standard (OCS) and the Responsible Animal Fibers (RAF) in 2023 and Responsible Down Standard (RDS) is planned to be piloted in 2024.
