Will the Content Claim Standard (CCS) cover human rights and livelihoods indicators?

The Human Rights and Livelihoods criteria will apply to raw material/farm production and initial processing stages across all materials. For the second draft of the unified standard, we have shifted the focus to a risk-based approach that aligns with recommendations for supply chain due diligence. Organizations would prepare their systems and due diligence mechanisms based on the risks they face within their operations, the part of the world they are in, and the materials they are working in – the due diligence mechanism will be context-related. Audit processes will focus on how the due diligence mechanism is being implemented. We are also reviewing options for recognition of existing standards to avoid duplicating audits that align with a risk-based / due diligence approach.
