Resin Operations Manager
Kintra Fibers is a materials science company creating bio-synthetic resin and yarns for the fashion industry, with backing from the world’s leading brands. The Resin Operations Manager will:
- Oversee the development of our resin and yarn products, including establishing KPIs and maintaining a timely production schedule
- Set up and manage supply chains for resin and yarn production
- Manage relationships with our current 3rd party production facilities
- Conduct on-site audits of manufacturing partner facilities and evaluate new partners
- Develop QA/QC procedures for raw materials, resins, and yarns
- Work closely with our internal R&D team to ensure successful tech transfer from pilot R&D scale to semi-works production quantities
- Manage cost data and provide detailed cost information to the CEO
The role requires:
- 5+ years’ experience in the chemical industry with a strong background in polymer production,
- MS or higher degree in Chemical Engineering or similar degree, an MBA is a plus
- Familiarity navigating contract and toll manufacturing partnerships, with experience negotiating contracts and protecting IP through scale up
- A strong desire to work in a startup environment with a small team
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the year to manufacturing partner facilities
- Prior experience managing large scale polyester resin operations, with an emphasis on PET / PBAT / PBS chemistry is a plus
This is a full-time position with a competitive benefits package offered. The role can be remote, with travel to our Brooklyn, NY lab and our 3rd-party manufacturing facilities.
