Textile Exchange’s Materials Directory is a unique filterable online repository for raw material suppliers, production units, and branded materials used in the fashion, textile, and apparel industry. The Materials Directory helps the industry understand who the raw material suppliers are, where they operate, and what branded materials they offer in the form of interactive maps and a filterable database.

The fiber and raw material suppliers, production units, and branded materials don’t have to be certified to any particular standards to be listed. The primary goal of the tool is to provide a comprehensive overview of all key fiber and raw material suppliers, production units, and branded materials used in the fashion, textile, and apparel industry and to continuously increase transparency around them by connecting different data sets into one central directory. Before using the information, it is important to read the frequently asked questions (FAQs) at the bottom of the page. Each material-specific directory page lists the sources used. While no data is perfect and sharing real-time information isn’t possible, we strive to continuously improve the information the industry can access via this publicly accessible online tool. We ask the industry to help us on this journey to ultimately enable better decision-making to create positive impacts.
