Job Summary
As Textile Exchange’s Copywriting Manager, you’ll ensure that every piece of content released under our brand is clear, engaging, grammatically perfect, and aligned with our tone of voice.
You’ll work closely with our subject matter experts to transform technical content into accessible, impactful copy. Whether editing in-depth reports, guidance documents, or digital tools, you’ll play a key role in maintaining consistency and clarity across all written materials.
With an editorial or publishing background, you’ll bring an exceptional eye for detail, expert grammar knowledge, and proven experience in maintaining consistency among materials written by different people. You’ll also be skilled at managing your workload independently and meeting deadlines, acting as the first point of contact for copy support for the Textile Exchange team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all Textile Exchange content is consistent, accessible, and grammatically accurate.
- Edit and refine external materials—including reports, guidance documents, digital tools, and more—ensuring alignment with our tone of voice.
- Review all digital copy, including newsletters and website updates, before publication.
- Support copy-editing for presentations and maintain an up-to-date slide deck for team use.
- Simplify technical, educational content into clear, reader-friendly language while preserving nuance.
- Build and update company-wide copy guidelines, including grammar rules and approved terminology.
- Act as the primary copywriting resource for internal teams, providing guidance and editing support.
- Ensure core messaging, values, and principles are consistently reflected across all materials.
- Coordinate with freelance editors during peak periods to manage workload.
- Bring or develop knowledge of sustainability, textiles, and the fashion industry to enhance content impact.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- A degree in a relevant field and proven editorial or publishing experience.
- Expertise in editing diverse content under tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to grammatical precision and consistency.
- Knowledge of sustainability in fashion and textiles, or an enthusiasm to learn in these areas.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and adapt to shifting deadlines.
Employment Package
- Reports to: Content and Copy Senior Manager
- Full-Time Position, 40 Hours a Week
- Location: Virtual/Remote
- Annual Salary Range: $62,000 – $94,000 USD
- To be filled as soon as possible (start date to be agreed between both parties).
- Our salary structures are location-agnostic, ensuring equal pay for the same role, irrespective of location. Final employment offers are determined based on the role, candidate experience, education, and other relevant factors, but not on location. Offers will be presented in the local currency of the candidate’s permanent residence. Benefits are tailored to the region of the candidate’s permanent residence and align with Textile Exchange’s regional employment packages.
