Textile Exchange opens the 2025 Materials Benchmark and Fiber and Materials Matrix surveys

The 2025 reporting cycle for the Materials Benchmark and Fiber and Materials Matrix surveys officially opened on our new data reporting portal on April 10. The surveys will remain open for submission until June 13.

Materials Benchmark

Textile Exchange is excited to welcome both new and returning companies to this year’s cycle.

Returning participants should have received their unique registration link to access the updated portal. New participants are encouraged to register and join the community of companies measuring progress toward more sustainable materials sourcing.

To help participants navigate the new portal, we recommend watching our onboarding webinar, which offers a step-by-step walkthrough of the process.

Weekly support calls will run every Wednesday at 3:00 PM BST from April 16 to June 11. Each session will include a brief overview of key survey sections followed by an open Q&A. Weekly themes will be shared through the Materials Benchmark Hub.

Fiber and Materials Matrix

The Fiber and Materials Matrix, formerly known as the Preferred Fiber and Materials Matrix (PFMM), offers owners of standards systems, branded fibers, and improvement programs a consistent way to track and share their sustainability performance. It also supports brands in making informed sourcing decisions.

The FMM self-assessment process opens on April 10 and is designed for Tier 4 initiatives. If you’re unsure what qualifies as Tier 4, please refer to our Supply Chain Taxonomy, developed with the Apparel Alliance.

All submissions must be supported by publicly available evidence and will be reviewed and validated by a third-party organization.

All interested organizations are encouraged to watch our Fiber and Materials Matrix update webinar for a full overview of this year’s process and expectations.
