One of the most powerful ways to bring about change is for stakeholders to come together pre-competitively to figure out ways to make progress. As we spread our net to cover a wider range of Preferred Fibers and Materials, the format originally developed by the Organic Cotton Round Table (OCRT) is being used as a model to dive deeper into other fibers and materials.
Textile Exchange now facilitates pre-competitive Round Tables for a growing number of preferred fibers and materials. Click on the icons below to find out more about each.
Round Table Summits are held annually alongside Textile Exchange’s annual Textile Sustainability Conference, and are designed to be interactive and work-oriented, but open and inclusive of all with an interest in the topic.
Each Round Table may have a number of Working Groups comprising a dedicated group of people who agree to meet regularly (mostly virtually) to tackle a specific set of challenges under a co-created agenda. Members of a Working Group will contribute in-kind expertise and may provide funding to get work done.
Textile Exchange Round Tables drive collective action for core fibers and materials programs. The below summaries are recaps from the virtual 2020 Textile Sustainability Conference.
